So build that wall and build it strong
we'll be there before too long
we'll be there before too long
A long, deep yawn escaped from Percys wide mouth, his pale, pink tongue hung out briefly and his canines flashed out before he snapped his mouth closed. What a dreary morning, the calico squinted his lime-yellow eyes with scrutiny at the window he sat next to, watching the droplets of rain water tap the surface outside and trickle down below. The dull, static sounds of the telly droned in the living room, a human inside it was warning something about a passing storm in a rather urgent voice. However, as usual, it was the human's business and not his. Frankly he wasn't worried about the human he kept here in his household. Such fur-less, two-legged apes appear so vulnerable yet so adaptable to anything. The one he stayed with already knew how to care of him. Still, Percy mused as he eyed the lady who turned off the electrical box with a rectangular, plastic wand. They are such pathetic hunters.
The fluffy male turned his attention back to the window, which gave him an open view of his backyard. It was a spacious ground with pots of mint and herbs his human liked to cultivate. She was kind enough to add a certain plant that his kind loved the most - catmint. There were three pots just for him, and he can pluck from their leaves anytime he wanted. Unfortunately, he preferred not to get his paws wet to enjoy his usual dose. His long, patched, plumed tail twitched with interest at the smallest movement in the grass outside. A tiny mouse had found its way in from the thick bushes from the other side of the fence. Must have come from the forest, Percy speculated as he trained his bright orbs at the rodent. It paused a bit here and there, taking shelter under the leaves of the plants before hiding behind some of the pots to wipe its face with its teeny, tiny forepaws. How cute.
The feline felt his claws unsheath from his paws, which he quickly sheathed back. Ah, what an urge, but he really can't be bothered, but his small, short chirps were tell-tale signs that the tiny creature was exciting him to hunt. Behind him, he can hear his lady approach, gently calling his name with loving coos before he felt her large, warm palm run down from the back of his neck and down his spine. With half-lidded eyes, Percy let out a purr, and in turn the lady replied with a giggle. A few more human words were said that he did not understand, and she left him for the kitchen. Dinner must be almost ready.
